The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, disclosed this in a statement in Uyo.

“The vehicle has been recovered and currently undergoing investigation. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects,” she said.

John also said police personnel apprehended a suspected cultist along Abak Road in a separate operation and recovered three live cartridges from him.

She said the suspect confessed during interrogation to being a member of the Black Axe cult group.

John added that the suspect would remain in custody while investigation continued to identify other members of the group.

She reiterated the commitment of the Commissioner of Police, Baba Azare, to sustaining intelligence-led operations and proactive policing strategies in the state.
