The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested two suspected vandals in separate operations and recovered stolen property.
Police said one of the suspects was arrested after a distress call over the vandalism of aluminium window frames, electrical wires and cables at Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua. Recovered items included cut-to-size aluminium window frames and electrical cables, while the suspect reportedly confessed during interrogation.
The second suspect was arrested for allegedly stealing an industrial block-moulding machine vibrator at the Ikot Ekpene International Market project site. The stolen machine was recovered, while efforts are ongoing to arrest other fleeing suspects.
The police reaffirmed their commitment to protecting public infrastructure and urged residents to continue providing timely information on suspicious activities.
