The All Progressives Congress (APC) governors, under the umbrella of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), have resolved to work towards addressing the challenges facing Nigeria’s democratic space and improving the welfare of citizens.
The Chairman of the forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, disclosed this while briefing journalists after a meeting of the forum that ended in the early hours of Tuesday in Abuja.
Uzodimma said the governors reviewed the outcome of the party’s primaries across the federation, the recent governorship election in Ekiti State, and various by-elections in which the APC recorded victories.
“We have resolved to work towards solving the problems and challenges facing our democratic space and ensuring that our people are better off.
“We also resolved to meet with the leadership of the party to plan for the 2027 presidential and National Assembly elections. We are ready and good to go,” he said.
The PGF chairman added that the forum also resolved to continue working with the leadership of the APC to strengthen the party and position it for future electoral contests.
Governors from several APC-controlled states attended the meeting, including those of Ekiti State, Zamfara State, Taraba State, Lagos State, Sokoto State, Kano State, Kaduna State, Gombe State, Kebbi State, Akwa Ibom State and Borno State, among others.
