Days after Nigeria lost an undergraduate. Mojisola Awesu, in a murderous circumstance, another varsity student, Esu Rita Ema, has met a gruesome death.

Awesu, a graduating student at the Kwara State College of Health Technology, was found dead in a suspicious circumstance, after she was lured to a non-existent party by a student of another institution.

On her part, Ema, who was also a finalist at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, was on Thursday  knocked down by a car in front of the university gate.

‘”If it is unfortunate to lose a domestic animal, how can anyone quantify the loss of a child, most especially a grown-up child who was a young, promising adult with a lot of potential? A final year student, for that matter“. Therefore, he appealed to his parents, siblings, family, friends, and classmates to seek solace in God,” said OAU Vice Chancellor, Professor Simeon Banire, in a condolence message to her parents.

Ema was a student of a student of Foreign Languages.

In a statement released, the Public Relations Officer of the University, Abiodun Olarewaju, said Ema with matriculation Number FRM/2019/041, was allegedly killed by a Lexus car with Abuja Registration Number ABJ 427 LQ driven by one Lasisi Sodiq Segun. The student, who was said to be coming to the campus to submit her final year project to her supervisor, was crossing the Ife – Ibadan express road at the campus gate when the accident happened.

Members of the Federal Road Safety Corps came to recover the corpse of the student and deposited the same at the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital Complex mortuary at about 12:35 pm. At the same time, the officers of the Nigerian Police arrested the driver for investigation and further necessary action.
