Nollywood seems to have got another major infrastructural addition as popular film producer, Bolanle Austen-Peters, has unveiled a 10,000-acre film village.
This happened days after seasoned actor, Ibrahim Chatta, unveiled a creative arena in which he said he had invested some N1.4bn.
Austen-Peter’s facility is located in Epe, Lagos State, making it a potential neighbour of the Lagos Film City being built in Ejinrin, in the fish city area.
Her business acumen, exceptional passion and drive she has demonstrated since she launched into the Nigerian entertainment scene, firstly through the establishment of Terra Kulture on Victoria Island, and later fast bourgeoning theatre and film production, make her a force to watch as far as the film village multiplication is concerned.
The producer, who noted in an IG post that her latest movie, “House of GA’A”, was shot at the BAP Film Village, has secured a strategic position in the story of Nollywood.
She explained that the film village was open for commercial use, including recreation and movie productions.
She wrote: “So many have asked where we shot House of GA’A. This is it! BAP Productions Film Village in Epe. Over 10,000 acres of land, rolling hills, huts, and other facilities. Open for hire”.
She stated: “This what we started with, greenery, dense forestation when we went the first time. Everything was just this large expanse of land and then I called Bisola. I wanted to give women a chance. She had never done anything like this before. But I saw the fire in her eyes.”
