Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has pleaded with the leadership of his Peoples Democratic Party to suspend him immediately.

He made the plea in reaction to reports that the party has started considering doing so based on the battle he is fighting to get the party drop its Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.

According to him, suspending him is a battle he likes to face, promising the party that none of them would rest thereafter.

He said during a TV programme on Friday:

No problem. Look at the problem you are already carrying, and you want to create another one.
I’m not saying I’m bigger than the party.
I beg them today. They should suspend me today.
After doing so, anything you see, you take.
They know what I will do. Pikin wey say him mama no dey sleep, will he sleep?”

On whether or not other parties are wooing him, he said it was naturaL.

He said:
“Who does not want to win Rivers?
Who does not want Rivers?
Our presidential candidate, does he not talk to other parties?
Who is a pretty girl that people don’t go and talk to?”
