Although top aspirants are stepping down for All Progressives leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, in the race for its presidential candidate, Pastor Tunde Bakare has vowed to fight till the end of the convention.
This will bring to the memory of political historians the Yoruba verb used to describe the situation the late Ladoke Akintola remained adamant during his struggle with the late sage, Obafemi Awolowo, during the Western Region premiership battle – taku, meaning remaining adamant.

Speaking at the convention in Abuja, Bakare said, “I am not here to step down for anyone. I am here to step up as the 16th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
Many had wondered what gave Bakare the courage to purchase the nomination form with as high as N100m, knowing that he does not have a political base.
He had, however, on some occasions noted that God showed him he would be President.
Interestingly, observers would recall, he, not long ago, made a strong case in Tinubu’s favour, during a sermon that went viral.
