ASUU strike: Rema reacts to open invitation from Bowen University

– Divine Ikubor, better known by his stage name Rema, has responded to an open invitation from Bowen University, which told the artiste that joining Bowen would shield him from the Academic Staff Union of Universities strike.

– Recall, the singer had earlier pleaded with ASUU to call off its ongoing strike.

– On Monday, the Lady crooner lamented over the lingering Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU strike.

– ASUU embarked on a one-month warning strike on February 14th and extended it by another two months, over the alleged failure of the government to fulfil its agreements.

– Students have been at home since then waiting for the strike to be called off.

– Rema who had earlier disclosed he got admission to study at the University of Lagos, UNILAG, on Monday urged ASUU to call off the strike.

– “ASUU, since dem give me admission I neva start school o, e don do nau!” he wrote in pidgin.

– However, Bowen University, which is based in Iwo, Osun State, responded to the singer’s tweet by saying that if Rema enrols at the private institution, he will not be affected by the ASUU strike.
