Home-boy fuji great, Sefiu Alao, has continued to reign in the fuji music world especially in Ogun State, where he has continued to reside, unmoved by Lagos allures.
The seasoned artiste, popularly called Original Omo Oko (Original Village Boy), is reputed to be one of the most compelling composers of fuji songs, in the line of the exponent himself, Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, Saheed Osupa and Shina Akanni.
Based on his popularity in Ogun, and the commercial capacity of fuji, he has been so visible at political rallies that he has not missed any season since 1999 when politics returned.
Alao was again in his elements on Thursday, July 22, when the All Progressives Congress rounded off its campaigns for the local government election held on Saturday.
He did one of the things he knows how to do best – chanting the praises of stalwarts, including Governor Dapo Abiodun, who was also at the rally.
Beyond the immediate council challenge, the musician is already helping Abiodun to project into a second tenure.

He then practically went ahead to ‘remix’ the governor’s name, singing, ‘’ E dapo mo Dapo ooooo,’ meaning join force with Dapo.
Interestingly, in a manner that shows that artistes have no parties, and that they only flow with the tide, he had, some three years back, celebrated an Ibikunle Amosun when he was governor.
Today, Amosun and Abiodun are not in the same camp although they are supposed to be in the same party.
Of course, when Gbenga Daniel was the governor on the platform of clear opposition Peoples Democratic Party, Sefiu Alao had also done his job.
Beyond such political interventions, however, Alao remains one of the most resourceful musicians that Ogun State has produced.
Far from being a one-album star, he has reeled out many, while he has also successfully experimented with other genres that include apala.
Many will, therefore, see him as being in the line of, even if not yet of the same status as, some of the legendary artistes/artists that Ogun State has produced: Haruna Ishola, Ayinla Omowura, Fela Anikulapo and Ebenezer Obey.
