Actor Yomi Fabiyi has visited embattled colleague, Lere Omiyinka, aka Baba Ijesha, in detention.

Ijesha has been accused of molesting and defiling a minor, who is a foster child of comedienne Princess.

According to Fabiyi who spoke with BBC Yoruba, he decided to visit Ijesha in detention so that he could hear the truth from him.

He told BBC that the accused noted that he had not seen the video from the CCTV.

Besides, Baba Ijesha said although he touched the girl, he never went beyond such – according to Fabiyi.

On how the police are treating the embattled comedian, Fabiyi added that he was not being manhandled.

He also said there was an indication that Baba Ijesha had got a lawyer, while he (Yomi) said there would be revelations people did not expect in court.

Fabiyi too has been swimming in mixed reactions since he started showing sympathy for Ijesha.

Some colleagues, including Iyabo Ojo, have been sharply critising him, saying he was supporting molestation and defilement.
He too has however been fighting back, saying he was not supporting such but insisting that Baba Ijesha deserved justice while those who allegedly used the girl as a bai should also be dealt with.

He said the relationship between he and Ijesha, prior to the crisis, was such that he could not just abandon him, though he noted that he should be punished if found guilty.
