The Chief Missioner of Nasru-Lahi-FatiH (NASFAT) Society, Imam Abdul-Azeez Onike, says the society is set to strengthen its partnership with the Federal Government to reduce literacy level and improve living standard of Nigerians.
Onike said in a statement in Lagos that he made the assertion in Abidjan, Cote d’voire, during his visit to the Nigerian Embassy in the country on Monday evening.
He said that the collaboration was in line with the new strategic goals set by the new executive council of the society as encapsulated in HELD (Health, Education, Livelihoods and Dawah).
According to him, the Abidjan branch of the society is projecting the image of NASFAT and spreading the mission by estabilishing a registered and functional Clinic/Healthcare Centre there.
“I commend the efforts of the Federal Government back home in making Nigeria a peaceful place to live for Nigerians and non-Nigerians.
“Nigerians in Diaspora, especially NASFAT members, should always be guided by the scriptural motivational prescriptions which the society has globally adopted.
“Let there be, arising from you, a nation inviting to (all that is) good, enjoying what is right and forbidding what is wrong, and those will be the successful,” Onike said.
He urged them to domesticate the HELD initiatives by continuously be law abiding and contribute to the socioeconomic development of their host country.
“You have been good ambassador in this country and I have witnessed and enjoyed this, judging from the courtesies, honours and privileges personally accorded me by the Ivoriens immigration officials at the Airport,” he said.
Commenting, Alhaji Mohammed Maccido, the Charge d’ Affaires, Embassy of Nigeria in Cote d’ Ivoire, hoped that NASFAT members in Cote d’Ivoire, would continue to be good Ambasadors of Nigeria.
Maccido said though, he was aware of NASFAT in Nigeria, the visit to the Embassy by the chief missioner had afforded him the opportunity of knowing more about the society’s activities.
“The six days tour was part of the NASFAT’s method of ensuring that all its branches do not stray from its mission,” he said.
