Investigation into the crash of the helicopter carrying the Vice President, Prof. Yomi Osinbajo and some other dignitaries last Monday has revealed the operators, Caverton Helicopters, failed to carry out due diligence regarding landing.
The Accident Investigation Bureau on Wednesday released the preliminary report that attributed the accident to what it called ‘brownout’.
According to the Commissioner, AIB, Mr. Akin Olateru, the crew lost visual contact with the ground at landing, noting that the situation was described as a ‘brownout’ – caused by landing in a dry, sandy environment.
