A former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has described deceased colleague, Alhaji Sheu Shagari, as a gem.
On a condolence visit to Shagari’s family on Monday, he said, “Nigeria has lost a gem. He was an epitome of personal integrity, commitment, forbearance, forgiveness and faith in God.”
Also during his visit to the family, the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, said Shagari was committed to the principles of democracy.
“His example shows that when democracy works, the country benefits,” Saraki said.
