There was a multiple tragedy in Isolo, Lagos, this morning as a bus conductor who stabbed a passenger was burnt to death while the bus was also set ablaze.

The incident occurred at Five Star Bus Stop near Aswani Market, Isolo, with eyewitness saying the conductor stabbed the passenger to death during an argument over N100 balance.

The bus was said to be heading to the Aswani market area when the passenger opted to alight at the junction before the market and demanded his change.

While another version of the story said it was N50 that was involved, it was during a quarrel that ensued over it that  the conductor refused to hand over the change and allegedly threatened the passenger.

He was said to have grabbed a knife from the wares of a Hausa man selling hardware by the roadside and stabbed the passenger, who died immediately.

It was in retaliation that passers-by were said to have attacked the conductor and set him ablaze – alongside with the vehicle.
