The disunity among the leaders of pan Yoruba group, Afenifere, has again played out as the battle between President Muhammadu Buhari and Alhaji Abubarkar Atiku thickens.

While the faction led by Chief Ayo Adebanjo is opposed to Buhari’s candidature for the presidential election, the one led by Chief Ayo Fasanmi has endorsed him.

Although the Adebanjos have not declared for Atiku, their body language suggests that.

Adebanjo particularly has phobia for northern hegemony.

Incidentally, the two leading candidates, Buhari and Atiku, are both core Fulani northerners.

However, the Fasanmi faction declared for Buhari with the threat that it will deal with any member that goes against the decision.
