Valencia striker Rafa Mir has been arrested by the Spanish police on suspicion of sexual assault.

The 27-year-old was taken into custody on Monday evening after an allegation was made against him and another unidentified person.

Rafa Mir began his international career with Valencia before joining Wolves in 2018.

The striker moved to Wolves from Valencia in 2018 but played only four times for the club.

He joined Sevilla in 2021 following different loans at Nottingham Forest, Las Palmas, and Huesca during his time at Wolves.

Mir re-joined Valencia earlier this summer on a season-long loan from La Liga rivals Sevilla, where he scored 24 goals in 105 appearances for the club.

He represented his nation at the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo, scoring three times in six games as Spain lost the gold medal match to Brazil.
