Former Enugu Governor, Chimaroke Nnamani has said that the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the Febraury 25 election, Peter Obi, is trying to de-market the president-elect, Sen. Bola Tinubu.

He said this was why Obi dragged Tinubu to the election tribunal, and thus urged him to withdraw it.
Nnamani said this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, urging Obi and his supporters to accept the reality of the fact that Tinubu had emerged as the President-elect of Nigeria.
“Obi knows he has neither spread nor national appeal to win the presidential election, what Obi is doing with the petition is trying to demarket Tinubu.

“His petition is dead on arrival, he does not have the spread or national appeal, his appeal to non electoral matters is to demarket the President elect and demage his reputation.
“He does not have near spread and national appeal, the petition is ego driven and a joke carried too far.
“His attempt to highlight on non electoral issues is trying to embarrass the President elect,” he said.
Nnamani said Obi needed to come down from his high horse to allow negotiation on behalf of the Igbo nation and South -East for a stake in the national and share of the accruals of the commonwealth.
“We must join the main stream and participate in the making of a new Nigeria.

“We are not going any where, and ready to bargain for our own share, It is a common knowledge that others are doing the same.
“Igbo has to confront reality now or be consigned to the backwoods of history. Time to align is now,” he said. (

Sen. Chimaroke Nnamani (PDP-Enugu) says his suspension from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by the National working committee (NWC) is null and void.
Nnamani, who represents Enugu-East at the National Assembly, said this in a statement in Abuja.
“The PDP suspension without hearing is incurably messy and will collapse,” he said.
Nnamani said he decision to pitch tent with Asawaju Bola Tinubu was caused by the PDP refusal to comply with its own constitution that key political offices should be rotated between South and North to guarantee harmony, peace, fairness, equity and justice.

“As it is now, there is no fairness, justice and equity in the PDP because both the Presidential Candidate and the National Chairman are from the same region.
“ I am only exercising my right for freedom of choice and association. On this score, I stand with Tinubu,” he said.
Nnamani urged the leadership of the PDP to put its house in order, saying that his suspension from the party lacked both moral and constitutional backings.

Former Governor of Enugu State, Sen. Chimaroke Nnamani, has dismissed as a ruse, the report of a $41.8 million judgment against him in the United States

Nnamani in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja, said the report was fake news and targeted at maligning him because of his alternative views on recent political development in the country.

” It is Campaign of calumny, intimidation, insults and abuse orchestrated to suppress and diminish my voice; however, my voice will grow louder and more persistent.

“I know my recent position will attract this attack by those who cannot tolerate alternative views; democracy allows alternative view points, if I cannot express my opinion and take a stand who will? “

“ There was no such judgment anywhere, the author of the fake news is a known blackmailer.

” The story with the Air Peace Airline is still fresh in our memories. I’m not surprised that the author has offered himself as a willing tool for this hatchet job once again.

” I left Enugu State on a solid foundation 15 years ago, record of our accomplishments is an open book; no amount of mudslinging can rewrite our history.

” I urge our people and Nigerians alike to ignore the mischievous report, sponsored by political foes and professional blackmailers,” he said.
