<p><span class="citation-15">The </span><span class="citation-15">Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN)</span><span class="citation-15"> in </span><span class="citation-15">Osun State</span><span class="citation-15"> has insisted that the intervention of the </span><span class="citation-15">Judicial Service Commission (JSC)</span><span class="citation-15 citation-end-15"> is the only way to restore industrial harmony.</span> <span class="citation-14 citation-end-14">This appeal comes as an ongoing strike paralyzes the state’s courts.</span></p>
<p><span class="citation-13">Mr. Idris Adeniran</span><span class="citation-13">, the </span><span class="citation-13">Osun JUSUN</span><span class="citation-13"> chairman, stated </span><span class="citation-13">Osogbo</span><span class="citation-13"> on </span><span class="citation-13">Friday,</span><span class="citation-13 citation-end-13"> outlining the union’s position.</span> The union believes the JSC, led by Osun Chief Judge Justice Adepele Ojo, possesses the authority to address staff welfare challenges and boost judicial integrity.</p>
<p><span class="citation-12">Despite numerous attempts, including formal letters, </span><span class="citation-12">JUSUN</span><span class="citation-12"> has yet to secure a meeting with </span><span class="citation-12">Justice Ojo</span><span class="citation-12"> and the </span><span class="citation-12">JSC</span><span class="citation-12 citation-end-12">.</span> This failure to engage is cited as the primary obstacle to resolving the dispute over pending promotions and other entitlements</p>

<div dir="auto">It stated that the JSC chairman should reconsider the union’s request for a meeting in order to find lasting solutions to the issues on the ground.</div>

<div dir="auto">” We will continue to resist the unjustified non-implementation of outstanding promotions and welfare issues affecting our members .</div>

<div dir="auto">” We urge Judiciary staff members to disregard false and baseless information aimed at undermining our collective resolve , ” the union said .</div>

<div dir="auto">The union maintained that the strike would remain indefinite until the JSC took the necessary action.</div>
<div dir="auto">The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the union on Sept. 19 directed its members to withdraw their services immediately over unpaid entitlements.</div>

<p>The strike is also to compel the JSC to consider the 2024 and 2025 promotions for its members, as well as organise training for staff members .</p>

<p>Governor Adeboyega Oyetola of Osun State on Friday presented 13 Toyota sport utility vehicles to the State High Court Judges as part of efforts to enhance the welfare of judicial officers in the state.</p>
<p>The governor, while inaugurating the vehicles at Government House, Osogbo, promised to ensure vibrant and smooth judicial activities in the State.</p>
<p>The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the keys of the Toyota Jeeps were handed over to the judges.</p>
<p>Oyetola said: “The state government would continue to play its roles with the judiciary in ensuring that their activities are carried out smoothly.</p>
<p>“We will go round the courts to rehabilitate and rebuild some of the dilapidated buildings.</p>
<p>“The 13 brand new Toyota Jeeps are for our judges purposely for the progress of judicial activities in Osun.”</p>
<p>In his remarks, the Chief Judge of Osun State, Justice Adepele Ojo, commended the governor for fulfilling his promises to the judiciary with the believe that such gesture would continue.</p>
<p>Ojo, therefore, said the vehicles would be used for judicial activities in the State.</p>
<p>Justice A.B. Abdulkareem, who delivered the vote of thanks on behalf of the beneficiaries, commended the governor for fulfilling his promises.</p>
