Blackface goes after Shallipopi, alleges he copied his song

Former member of the defunct Plantashun Boys,  Blackface, is again back in the ring.

He has called out a younger colleague, Shallipopi, accusing him of copying one of his songs.

Blackface, whose real name is Ahmed Augustine Obiabo, is known to have accused some other artistes of stealing his songs – with the fellows including Asake, Olamide and Tuface, the last regarding ‘African Queen’.

He wonders if the new generation artistes are unable to properly release a song without incorporating his sound or melody into it.

He claims:

“Una mean say if them no copy my sound or my melody them no go get song to sing? Ok I don make remix for una so make una better abandon this una project!”

Blackface speaks on new album

Controversial artiste, Augustine Ahmedu, aka Blackface, has given a hint on a new album he is working on.

According to him, the work will soon be out.

This is as he notes that he is helping some other artistes on a new label.

Blackface is more popular with fighting for copyright ownership, especially that of Tuface’s ‘African Quine’.

On his current adventures, he notes in an interview with ‘The Punch’: “I am trying to release an album. I currently work with a record company called Loud Houz Entertainment, and we have some artistes that we are grooming. We are also working on a Plantashun Boiz project. People will be hearing more from me now as an executive, even though I will still be releasing songs once in a while. I am focused on helping those that are on my record label, teaching them all they need to know about the industry to make them big enough to fend for themselves.”

… accuses Burna Boy, others of stealing his songs

Controversial artiste, Blackface, Blackface who was a former member of the now divided Plantashun Boiz group, has accused big names in the industry, of stealing his work.

During a recent interview with Naija FM in Lagos, he called out Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Asake, of copying his song without his consent.

Wizkid and Burna Boy’s song ‘Ginger’, according to Blackface, closely mimics his single ‘Twist & Turn’ in terms of rhythm, beat, and the way the melody begins and ends. He argued that only the verses had been changed.

In addition, Blackface accused Asake of stealing his song ‘Ikebe Supa’ in ‘Joha,’ claiming that he wass an inspiration to the musicians.

The veteran singer, who once called out 2Face Idibia, clarified that he does not oppose young artistes sampling his work, but he takes issue with the lack of permission and proper acknowledgement in the process.

“Young ones dey get inspiration from my music.

The first person wey sample my music na Wizkid when he do ‘Baby girl I like the way you whine it.’

When I release these records, dem go find the one wey dem like and dem go turn am to their own,” he said in part.

For how long can Blackface take on Bobrisky?

Controversial musician, Blackface, has attacked crossdressers in Nigeria, saying they were negatively influencing younger generations.

Blackface called out the likes of Bobrisky, James Brown and Denrele over the way they dress.

The question now could be: for how long can he take on a stubborn soul like Bobrisky?

Morally promising as his crusade might be, a Bobrisky is not one to bow to such a gospel.

Even the Federal Government, especially through culture manager Otunba Segun Runsewe, tried hard to stop Bobrisky’s crossdressing trade. It failed.

Well, Blackface, who who has been in copyright battle with his old bandmate Tuface, insisted in a tweet:

“Y’ALL SHOULD TRY STOPPING INFLUENCING OUR YOUNG GENERATIONS WITH YOUR LOW IQ AND DRESS SENSE!

IF YOU’RE A MAN PLEASE DRESS LIKE A MAN AND NOT A TRANSGENDER. SMH”

Blackface to Asake: You spent $165K on a music video but can’t use N100 to call call owner of the song

Popular artiste, Blackface, has called out the rave of the moment in the industry, Asake, for allegedly ignoring him though the latter paid big to do a video shoot for the song ‘Joha’.

According to Blackface, he is the real owner of the song but Asake refused to speak to him before remixing it.

Blackface accused Asake for paying $165K to shoot ‘Joha’ video while ignoring him, the real owner of the song.

TG Omori revealed that Asake’s music video, “Joha” was shot for the sum of $165k.

Expressing his anger on Twitter, Blackface wrote:

“YOU SPEND $165K DOLLARS TO SLOT MUSICAL VIDEO FOR YOUR ARTIST UNA NO FIT USE 100 NAIRA CALL THE OWNER OF THE SONG BEFORE UNA REMIX AM.

UNA DEY FORM SAY UNA SMART.

I BELIEVE E BETTER MAKE UNA DO THE RIGHT THING BECAUSE THIS ONE I NO GO SORRY FOR UNA! I DEY COME!

THEY LOVE MUSIC I KNOW BUT DOES IT GIVE THEM THE RIGHT TO SAMPLE REMAKE OR REMIX WORKS I HAVE ALREADY.”

Blackface accuses Wizkid, Banky W of stealing his song

– The singer, who’s infamous for calling out musicians who stole his songs, revealed that they ‘jacked’ his song ‘I like the way’.

– Nigerian singer, Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo, popularly known as Blackface has stated that his colleagues, Wizkid and Banky W stole his song.

– With the internet buzzing over Wizkid’s reaction to his former boss’ interview, Blackface has claimed the duo hijacked his song, “I Like the Way”.

– Blackface stated that he blames Samklef for reproducing his beats for them to use.

– Quoting Wizkid’s tweet, he asked both Banky W and Wizkid to call him because they have an ‘unfinished business’ to settle.

I’m badder than Olamide, others on stage – Blackface

Controversial artiste, Blackface, has claimed a top position  in the Nigeria music industry.
 
He says he’s far ahead of Olamide, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Wande Coal and D’banj in the game of music.
 
According to him, he is better than all of them on stage and he has also brought out more artiste.

A member of the defunct Plantazon Boys comprising Tuface and Faze, Blackface had been in a long battle with the first – Tuface – over the ownership of the hit song, ‘Africa Queen’.
 
In a recent online bragging, he said (SIC):
 
“ME BADDER THAN THEM AND DEM KNOW! …
 
I brought out more artistes than most
 
I made more records than many
 
I am badder than them all on stage
 
Also songs I write are not on the same level with lots.
 
Let’s be honest I am still ahead of the game.”

Blackface attacks Wizkid over Buhari

Controversial singer, Blackface, has hit hard at Wizkid.

He is tackling the Starry over his comment on President Muhammadu Buhari’s ‘get-well-soon’ message to President Donald Trump.

“Donald Trump is not your business! Old man! Police/Sarz still killing Nigerian youth on a daily! Do something! Nothing concern you for America! Face your country !!,” Wizkid had slammed Buhari in a tweet.

Fiing him back with a tweet, Blackface noted: “Why don’t you face your music small man? I understand why that is difficult because it doesn’t have any substance #ChildrenOfNowAdays

“No be every verified account the person name on top dey control So it is possible that that @wizkidayo account is being handled by an agent because I don’t believe Wizkid is that dumb to insult his father or his father’s mate(sic).”

Blackface’s usual ‘enemy’ is Tuface but there has been relative peace between them in recent times.
