A new rule by FIFA concerning the goalkeeper position has given France team an edge over Nigeria’s Falcons in one of the Women World Cup matches plyed tonight.
France lost a penalty kick awarded them towards the end of the game but the referee ordered a replay on the grounds that Falcons’ keeper did not have any of her feet on pole line as of the time the ball was kicked.
Once beaten France’s player got the ball in the second time, giving her country a goal that remained so till the end of the match that dragged into 98 minutes.
