…As Diego Simeone’s side beats Valencia in a 3-2 thriller

La liga giant, FC BarceLona, will wait till Saturday to be crowned champion of the current campaign.

This followed Athletico Madrid’s 3-2 win over Valencia at the Wandra Mesopolitano Stadium last night. However, Barcelona may clinch the title before their match against Levante should bottom-placed Real Valiadolid cause an upset in the match against Athletico Madrid earlier in the day.

Should that fail to happen, Barcelona will have to wait for a victory over Levante after which the club will be crowned 2018/19 champions before their home fans.
Recall that victory for the visitors (Valencia) yesterday would have handed Barcelona the title, but the hosts went ahead early on when Alvaro Morata opened the scoring after just nine minutes.

Valencia equalised on 36 minutes through Kevin Gameiro, before Atletico Madrid went ahead again just after half-time when Antoine Griezmann headed a Thomas Lemar cross home.

Dani Parejo’s 77th minute penalty gave Valencia the hope of a draw, but Angel Correa hit the winner four minutes later to give Atletico all three points.
