Former Presdent Olusegun Obasanjo has reacted to recent criticism of the social intervention programmes of the Muhammadu Buhari government by his wife Aisha.
At a programme in Abuja, she described them as a failure, saying a N500bn intervention project did not reach the targets.
At a forum in Abeokuta, Obasanjo, a fierce critic of Buhari, okayed Aisha’s move but said she needed to engage Buhari privately on the matter.
According to a statement issued by his Media Aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, on Monday, he spoke when he hosted the Editorial Board of a Social media platform, Penpushing Media, at his Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Obasanjo was quoted as saying, “It is nice that President’s wife is talking, I think she did well, and maybe she should also have a pillow talk with the President. I believe every Nigerian family, individual, group is entitled to livelihood. And it is the responsibility of all to make sure we have a dignified life. That should be our aim collectively.”
