EKSEPA urges LG chairmen to embark on impactful projects

Chief Bamitale Oguntoyinbo, Chairman, Ekiti State Environmental Protection Agency (EKSEPA), on Friday urged chairmen of local governments in the state to focus on legacy projects that deliver tangible, long-term benefits to their communities.

Oguntoyinbo, who was a former Chairman of Oye Local Government Area, gave the advice during the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees(NULGE) End-of-the year celebration in Oye-Ekiti.

He said that the residents and indigenes were expecting laudable projects and not excuses from the chairmen.

Oguntoyinbo, who is the Obalodo of Oye Kingdom, urged NULGE to establish an Advisory Committee to be saddled with the responsibility of advising the chairmen and Head of Local Administration( HLA) on legacy projects.

“I want to urge all local government chairmen to embark on legacy projects and stop wasting money on projects that will not benefit the residents and indigenes of their communities.

“Also, I want to charge the NULGE Executives to set up Advisory Committee that will always advise both the Chairmen and HLAs on legacy projects.

“Enough of excuses, the funds are available but it takes an intelligent and hardworking chairman to quietly observe the needs of his people and execute laudable projects to meet their expectations,” he said.

Oguntoyinbo noted that one of his legacy projects during his tenure as council chairman was the Oye Civic Centre currently being use for NULGE week and other social activities in Oye-Ekiti.

He appealed to the workers to continue to support the administration of Gov. Biodun Oyebanji as he plans to contest for the second term in office.

Earlier in his address, the National Public Relations Officer of NULGE, Mr Adesoji Obaleye, advised the workers to pay particular attention to their health.

Obaleye commended Oyebanji for his efforts at improving the welfare of the local government workers.

On local government autonomy, the NULGE public relations officer said the union was making efforts to ensure that state governors adhere strictly to the judgment of the Supreme Court.

Similarly, the NULGE Chairman in Oye Local Government, Samson Awobusuyi, said that the union was celebrating and rejoicing God’s faithfulness in the lives of its members and retirees.

Awobusuyi urged members of the union to be dedicated to their duties and embrace peaceful working relationships.

‘Japa’ syndrome: A quest for greener pasture or an escape from reality?

Japa is a popular slang in Nigeria for relocation to other countries. Relocation can be for different purposes like marriage, education, job opportunity and so on. However, the alarming rate at which citizens leave the country triggers the japa issue.

Above all these reasons, the principal factor for japa as a Nigerian is the unfavourable state of the economy, the incessant decline in the standard of living, high inflation rate, the competitive labour market and the high level of unemployment.

Yet, for the employed, job security is not even guaranteed. Even when paid, bills are laid up like passengers queueing at a bus station. What is left is barely enough for sustenance.

In a bid to seek the greener pastures and escape from the bitter reality of the harsh economy, a better option is adopted: JAPA.

Everyone desires to own fast cars, great houses, luxurious lifestyles and a better life in all. No one likes poverty.

How can one thrive in a society where the gap between the rich and the poor widens on a daily basis?

Even many rich folks are driving towards bankruptcy, while some companies running at losses and on verge of liquidation. Yet the government is screaming ‘patience’. Patience amidst intense suffering and hunger.

Why spend a huge amount of money to relocate, when there is an option of starting up a business? There are inbuilt barriers: huge tax levy, bills and rates.

It would be a waste of money, time and resources if after a year or two, everything goes down the drain. One could invest one’s time and other resources on relocation.

What is the essence of 8-5 jobs if they can’t provide the basic necessities of life in time? The pressure from peers, family and the society is enough conviction to Japa.

At the end, relocation is not a bad action, if the motive is to seek greener pastures.

NSA urges administrators to sustain gains in nation’s security landscape

The National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, has urged security administrators to sustain recent gains in the nation’s security landscape.

Ribadu made the call in Abuja on Thursday at the opening of the Federal and States Security Administrators’ Meeting (FSSAM).

The meeting was held at the National Counter-Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Office of the National Security Adviser.

He said the meeting was taking place at a critical time when the administration of President Bola Tinubu, has been working assiduously to tackle insecurity and ensure peace and prosperity across Nigeria.

According to him, the administration has repositioned the Armed Forces for more effective counter-insurgency and counter-terrorism operations through enhanced coordination, procurement of modern platforms, and improved inter-agency synergy.

“These measures have produced tangible results, including the degradation of insurgents, the surrender of thousands of terrorists and their families, and the liberation of many areas previously held by bandits in parts of Kaduna and Katsina States,” he said.

The NSA also disclosed that the recently launched Forest Guards Initiative was aimed at sanitising forest reserves that had become safe havens for criminals.

He reaffirmed government’s resolve to flush out all criminal elements nationwide.

He added that separatist threats in the South East and South-South had reduced considerably, while maritime security had improved, leading to increased crude oil production above Nigeria’s OPEC quota.

Ribadu charged participants to redouble their efforts and provide actionable recommendations that would help government consolidate the gains made in national security.

Earlier, Mr Muhammed Danjuma, the Permanent Secretary in the Special Services Office, Office of the Secretary to the Federation, said the meeting would deliberate on critical national issues.

These he said, , include the operationalisation of the Forest Guard Initiative, the activities of scavengers (“Baban Bola”), rising incidents of disasters, and illegal mining.

Danjuma said the Forest Guard Initiative would initially be piloted in seven states, including Adamawa, Borno, Niger, Kebbi, Kwara, Sokoto, and Yobe before expansion to others.

He warned that the activities of scavengers, including vandalism of critical national infrastructure and handling of unexploded ordnance, had become a major national threat requiring urgent regulation.

He also lamented the growing cases of tanker explosions, road crashes, flooding, and illegal mining linked to insecurity, urging the forum to generate practical recommendations for government consideration.

The meeting, which brought together security administrators from all 36 states and the FCT, is expected to produce strategic resolutions to strengthen national and subnational security coordination

Delta-Five and Oborevwori’s education vision

Call them President Bola Tinubu’s kids; then Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s children. You won’t be wrong. For in reality, that sums up the story of five young Deltans who left Nigeria as national champions to compete in Qatar and returned to the country as global champions. They brought honour and fame to Nigeria, to Delta state and to their respective schools and families.

Take a bow: Wisdom Chukwuma of Government College, Ughelli; Otorvo Uyoyou of Alegbo Secondary School, Effurun; Abraham Honour of Okpaka Secondary School, Okpaka; Ekhamateh Splendour of Government Model Secondary School, Asaba; and Alika Daniel of Utagba-Ogbe Grammar School, Kwale. They are all students of public schools in Delta.

Ahead of their stellar performance in Qatar, they had emerged champions at the 2025 President’s National Basic Education Debate Championship, which earned them the ticket to represent Nigeria at the World Schools Debate Championship in Doha, Qatar.

To emerge champions in the national President’s schools debate, they out-performed other young debaters from 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory. They showed oratory, lexical elegance, critical thinking, linguistic sophistry, stage craft, teamwork and typical Delta spirit of self-confidence and charisma. The Delta quintet showed no butterflies. They were assertive and compelling in their arguments, persuasive with a splash of eloquence. They were not fazed by the audience. They possessed every stage of the national competition, wowing the audience with raw intelligence, logicality and an uncanny ability to verbalise their thoughts at the speed of light. Besides, they evinced a firm grasp of contemporary issues in a manner that truly set them apart from their competitors.

The Delta-Five simply owned the national debate championship. They made it their show with a dash of distinction. That was the badge of honour they took to the 2025 World Basic Schools Debate Championship held in Doha, Qatar. And they excelled against competition from United States of America and host nation, Qatar, debating on climate change, youth empowerment and responsible technology use.

It was a triumph of ‘the spirit of Delta’ and a testament to the strategic investment in education by Oborevwori; an investment that spans teachers recruitment, capacity building, infrastructure addition and upgrade, welfare of education personnel across the value chain, all of which have created the conducive ergonomics for experiential learning.

One common feature in Delta public education is funding. Oborevwori, himself a product of public-school system, believes that with the right tools, upskilled personnel, and good funding, Nigeria public schools can rival any in the world. He was the first governor to pay the 2025 counterpart funding for UBEC-SUBEB projects. His unrelenting push for quality academic and technical education has manifested in more school enrolments, improved performance in external examinations and enhanced technical competencies among youths in the state. It is a template worthy of national implementation.

A strong advocate of performance-based reward, the governor gifted each of the five students and their handlers with a goodly N20 million. Oborevwori is an ideal intentional leader whose predilection to welfare has been legendary all through his public life. He believes that governments at all levels must be people-centric. It was the same spirit of people-centred leadership that made him launch the Widows Welfare Scheme, which seeks to empower 10,000 widows through direct financial aid and access to free healthcare as well as the release of N10 billion to clear outstanding pension arrears owed to retirees in the state. This bucks the trend whereby retirees wait on end before receiving their deserved entitlements. Nigeria has had a poor sense of welfare for pensioners with hundreds dropping dead while waiting to be paid or while protesting non-payment of their pensions and gratuities. In a particular south-west state in 2015, 236 pensioners reportedly died in seven months as a result of the inability of the state government to pay their pension and gratuity, according to a Radio Nigeria report at that time. Even at the federal level, the issue of delayed payment and in some cases non-payment of pension has caused strains and deaths of retires in a manner that is not only shameful but affronts the fundamental rights of the retirees.

There has been a toxic pattern of owing retirees across the country. But not so with Oborevwori. He believes that while governance focuses on building infrastructure across all spectrum of endeavour, the human element in society must never be neglected. He sees this as a duty, an undeniable obligation to humanity. And he has kept his word. So far, a total of N36.4 billion had been paid in pensions, and N1.4 billion is being released for payment of pensions monthly since he assumed office.

“Our retirees are men and women who gave their best years in service to the state. It is only just that they receive what is duly owed to them, and under my watch, their welfare will remain top priority,” he said recently during a meeting with the state’s Pension Board.

Leadership in emerging economies like Nigeria must be deliberate in visioning, and purposeful in implementation. This was the model of Lee Kuan Yew, the architect of modern Singapore. He was devoted to quality education of Singaporeans and the enthronement of merit over sundry mundane considerations. He enforced the learning of English language making Singaporeans bilingual and becoming globally competitive. This deliberateness in leadership led to the emergence of Singapore from the ruins of war into a frontline global economy.

Indeed, success is neither an accident nor a happenstance. It comes from a premeditated visioning of a desired destination and calculated implementation of the critical processes that will lead to that destination. Oborevwori from the outset promised to deliver a MORE agenda of Meaningful Development, Opportunities for All, Realistic Reforms, and Enhanced Peace and Security. The rash of reforms he has wrought in the education sector alone underscores the competitive edge of Delta students both locally and globally. It is a rebirth of the good old days when Delta, even as a component of the defunct Bendel state, was the exemplar for youth development, academic and sporting excellence in the country.

From law, medicine and engineering to liberal arts and social sciences, Delta colleges and universities have continued to excel in major competitions thus cementing the state’s position not only as a benchmark in education but also a model in youth development and upskilling for global competitiveness. This is not a by-product of ad hoc and episodic leadership. Such landmarks are achieved with conscious leadership, the type epitomised by Oborevwori.

The fact that the fantastic Delta-Five are all students of public schools in the state speaks volumes of the governor’s determination to make Delta education sector the archetypal 21^st century standard in the country.

A Heartfelt Farewell to My Dear Friend, Solomon Arase

The passing of Dr. Solomon Ehig iator Arase, CFR has left me profoundly shaken. He departed far too soon, leaving behind not only a towering legacy but also cherished memories that continue to stir my heart.

Only days before his transition, he had read a profile piece about himself on Newspot Online Newspaper published on 16 August 2025. Almost immediately, he rang me, curious to know the author. When I told him it was my nephew, Olugbenga Adebamiwa, he requested Gbenga’s number. Upon speaking with him, Solomon expressed heartfelt appreciation for the article. His words still echo vividly in my mind:

“Thank you, Gbenga, for that beautiful piece. Not many get to read fine tributes about themselves after leaving office.”

He even spoke of inviting my nephew to a launch – a promise that, alas, shall never be fulfilled.

For me, Arase was not just a friend; he was a brother in spirit. Our bond stretched back to his early days as Personal Staff Officer to the late IGP Tafa Balogun. Though our careers took us down different paths, his insatiable thirst for knowledge and his warmth drew us close. He always addressed me affectionately as “Egbon Folu.”

I remember vividly how he stood by me during my 70th birthday celebration four years ago, offering unwavering support. He would often remind me to take my prescribed supplements, urging me to stay healthy. Such was his care – practical, thoughtful, and deeply human.

When he was appointed Inspector-General of Police, his excitement was palpable. “Egbon Folu, we got it!” he exclaimed. I replied simply, “To God be the glory.” Our friendship was never about material gains but about shared values, mutual respect, and a vision for a better Nigeria.

Arase’s passion for reforming the Nigeria Police was unmatched. He dreamt of transforming the institution into one of the finest in the world. Beyond his service in uniform, he excelled as a lawyer, establishing a modern legal chamber, and as an author, penning works on politics and security – most notably Readings on Election Security Management.

Today, as I write these words, it is hard to reconcile myself to the finality of his passing. I can still hear his familiar voice: “Egbon Folu, how are you today?” Though I shall hear it no more in this life, I will treasure our bond forever.

Farewell, my dear friend and brother. Until we meet again, may your soul rest in perfect peace.

Takeaways from Harvard Strategic Leadership Programme

Harvard University has always held a special attraction for me. And why not? Its awesome reputation as a remarkable citadel of learning, knowledge and research never fails to stir a sense of pride. So when an opportunity recently came my way to undergo a course in Strategic Leadership, I grabbed it with both hands.

Going to Harvard offered a good chance to glimpse the city. Located in Cambridge, a city in Middlesex County, Boston Massachusetts, it is one of the oldest cities in the United States. Being one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in the US, Harvard has been a significant part of Cambridge since its founding in 1636. The city of Cambridge has a rich and inextricable history with the university. Harvard is reputed for its academic legacy, historic buildings, technology and cultural attractions.

Aside its fascinating history, one of which is its leading role in the American revolution of the late 1700s, Boston’s sporting traditions also run deep.

The weather in Cambridge is almost comparable with what obtains in Lagos at that time of the year – bright, warm with some sunshine. I basked in the warmth and friendliness of this weather.

It was my first time in that city. Everything around Cambridge revolves around the university. Supermarkets sell only items, clothes, and souvenirs with imprints of the university’s logo. Most of the restaurants also sport the Harvard colour. This is the first culture shock. Yes, some of our universities in Nigeria impact their local communities in a way, but the immersive blend of the town and the gown does not go that deep as can be discerned in Harvard.

My eagerness to glimpse Massachusetts can be compared in equal measure with my excitement about the Harvard Strategic Leadership Course. Held from July 14 to 17, the program was very enlightening and informative. It was an opportunity for interactive conversations, cross fertilisation of ideas, experiences and cultures.

One key takeaway is the conversation about the changing dynamics of leadership in our rapidly changing world. The idea that one leader is super human and endowed with all the required competencies has become obsolete.

There is now a radical shift in leadership perspectives, with growing emphasis on individual responsibility and competence. These individual capacities within an organisation – or a nation – are developed to engender growth and sustainable development. It is when all these competences are harnessed that an organisation or a nation grows bountifully.

Margaret Andrews, the Harvard Instructor and professional speaker, who was our main resource person during the programme, noted quite succinctly: “None of us is as smart as all of us. No human knows everything and somebody knows something.”

Margaret was profound and impressive as she led discussions. She emphasized the importance of building a team and the relevance of teamwork to the success of an organization. There may, however, be difficulty in building and maintaining a team. A number of reasons account for this. Accounting for derailment are factors like narrow perspective or not being strategic, bad working relations, poor performance, and inability to develop or adapt.

There are many ways of building and managing successful teams. For the Harvard instructor, the most effective is for the leader to have a harmonising influence and give team members purpose. This will help increase their engagement, motivation and productivity.

We had extensive discussions on topics like the imperative of feedbacks to the success of a project or enterprise and the feedback process, confronting a new reality, implementing change and change management, and why transition is important for change to occur. Here, Margaret observed that most organisations tend to start a relay, but without putting in place effective transition.

Talking about decision-making, she restates the often-stated conventional wisdom, which is to pay attention to the decision-making process. The more one pays attention to the process, the more good decisions that are made, she explained. The processes must take cognizance of the framing of the problem, gathering data or intelligence, drawing conclusions, and of course learning from experience. For every option, there is a consequence. Analysing the pros and cons, benefits and drawbacks are absolutely necessary in choosing alternatives.

The question should always be: how will the consequences of options taken be mitigated?

Many a leader in a public or private sector will take better decisions if they factor in these important processes and factors.

The programme offered a good opportunity for networking. During the conference, I again met my friend John Breen of Harvard Education Team. The caliber of the course participants and their strong professional backgrounds were quite impressive.

In the classroom among others were Dr. Verity Rawson, MD of a hospital in Michigan, US, specializing in hospital medicine and lately palliative medicine; Amanda Loveday, the CEO of NP Strategy, a strategic communications firm serving small and large corporate an non-profit clients across the US, and Ozde Demituok, Director of Sustainable Finance at Sanko Group, one of the largest conglomerates in Turkey focusing on renewable energy, textile production, packaging and recycling.

At the programme, I also encountered Khalil Suleiman Halilu, that young transformative leader changing the narrative at the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Dr. Dairu Mohammed, Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Technology Transfer, and Prof. Ahmed-Doko Ibrahim of the Ahmadu Bello University, among other Nigerians, nay African participants.

The final point of the programme emerged at the point participants were divided into groups and asked to share their leadership perspectives, which are recorded. The questions included what each participant thinks make them a leader, their leadership journeys and philosophies. As Margaret puts it, everyone is potentially a leader. The pertinent questions, however, are what type of leader are you? What type of leader would you like to become? What kind of phrases would you like people to use in reference to you?

Kaduna government refutes kidnapping ranking report

The Kaduna State Government has dismissed a recent report that ranked the state among those with the highest number of kidnappings in Nigeria, calling it “false, mischievous, and irresponsible.”

The government’s reaction was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the Ministry of Information and signed by the Commissioner-designate, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki. He faulted the report by SB Morgen, which alleged that 629 people were abducted in Kaduna between July 2024 and June 2025.

According to Maiyaki, the publication by SB Morgen is a “figment of false imagination, clearly orchestrated to discredit the Kaduna Peace Model.” The statement did not provide alternative data on the number of abductions.

He added that the Kaduna Peace Model, introduced by Gov. Uba Sani had been widely commended by security agencies and development partners for restoring peace to security flashpoints across the state.

“It is on record that the Kaduna Peace Model has led to the recovery of over 500,000 hectares of previously deserted farmlands.

“Farmers have returned to their farms, and livestock markets in Birnin Gwari and Giwa, closed for more than a decade, have reopened,” Maiyaki added.

The government urged the public to disregard the report, insisting it does not reflect the present security reality in the state.

It warned against sensational reporting, saying such narratives could dampen the morale of security personnel working tirelessly to protect lives and property.

Maiyaki quoted the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr Suleiman Shuaibu (SAN), as saying that in April alone, 34 security operations resulted in the arrest of 54 high-profile suspects and the rescue of over 75 kidnap victims.

He said several criminal hideouts had been dismantled, with ongoing prosecutions to ensure justice is served.

Shuaibu also highlighted the government’s non-kinetic approach, including the establishment of the Kaduna Peace Dialogue Group, which facilitates negotiation and reintegration of repentant bandits.

He stated that the reopening of livestock markets in Birnin Gwari and Giwa and improved agricultural productivity are clear indicators of the model’s success.

“The safety and well-being of our citizens remain our top priority.

“We urge the public to disregard the misleading kidnapping ranking and remain focused on supporting the efforts toward sustainable peace and security in Kaduna,” Maiyaki concluded

NSE calls for more opportunities for local engineers

The Apapa Branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has urged the Federal and State Governments to give local engineers more opportunities to handle major projects.

Mr Emmanuel Okolo, the Chairman of the branch, made the appeal on monday during a press briefing to mark the beginning of the 2025 Engineering Week and the 23rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the branch.

According to Okolo, although several Executive Orders on local content have been signed, more attention needs to be given to their implementation. He said that this would ensure that the capacity of Nigerian engineers is properly harnessed to drive speedy economic growth.

He stressed that local engineers were competent to lead key projects, adding that they had consistently pursued goals for economic development and industrialisation of the country and should be encouraged with more opportunities.

Okolo also disclosed that the Apapa Branch carried out nine industrial visits in the past year, in addition to hosting seminars designed to support the nation’s all-round development.

We have been able to collaborate and help companies in the area of supporting firms in the designing and fabrication of industrial equipment for their use.

“We deployed some of our young engineers who are amongst the best to be employed in companies within and outside Lagos.

“Our structural engineers have assisted in resolving problems associated with building designs. We also have our student and NYSC members serving in firms in Lagos,” he said.

According to him, the theme for the 2025 Engineering Week, “Community-Based Engineering Solutions for a Thriving Economy,” further shows the branch commitment of economic growth.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that after the briefing, the branch held a Technical Workshop anchored by Mr Loko Ajibola, a Senior Corrosion Engineer from the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).

It was titled “Corrosion Engineering in Port Environments: Lessons from Case Studies”.

Okolo further announced that the branch would embark on a humanitarian visit to the Red Cross and motherless baby homes on Tuesday, while a public lecture and indoor games would hold on Wednesday at the branch secretariat.

The AGM is scheduled for Thursday, during which elections for new officers — except the chairman — will be conducted via electronic voting.

Highlighting achievements of the branch, he said capacity-building initiatives and welfare programmes for members had been prioritised over the past year.

“The branch has 656 six financial members drawn from the academia, private and public sectors of the economy,” he said.

Okolo thanked members of the branch for their cooperation, support and participation in the programmes, urging them not to relent in their efforts.

INEC urges Lagos residents to register for PVCs

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos has urged eligible residents to take part in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR).

The Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof. Ayobami Salami, said on monday that the in-person biometric capturing exercise has started smoothly and successfully across 21 designated centers within the state.

The in-person registration began a week after the nationwide launch of the online CVR platform on August 18. The commission’s plea is part of its effort to ensure that all eligible voters are able to register and get their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of upcoming elections.

Salami explained that the commission had deployed well-trained registration officers and equipment to all centres. The exercise holds daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

He added that the registration would continue every Monday to Friday across all designated centres.

“We have started the in-person biometric capturing today in Lagos at the state headquarters and INEC offices in the 20 Local Government Areas,” Salami said.

He noted that the exercise began successfully with impressive turnout, according to reports received from the field.

“We have 21 registration centres, one in each local government and another at the state headquarters. Everything is proceeding smoothly,” he added.

According to him, the commission has provided sufficient registration gadgets to serve applicants in all local governments.

He revealed that at least three registration machines had been deployed to each local government, with more sent to highly populated areas.

Salami urged applicants not to delay until the last minute, reminding them that the exercise will conclude on Aug. 30, 2026.

He also disclosed that his team would tour the state to monitor the process across the centres.

The REC appealed to prospective applicants to remain law-abiding, patient and peaceful throughout the exercise.

Nasarawa speaker urges youths to embrace moral values

Dr Danladi Jatau, the Speaker of the Nasarawa House of Assembly, has called on youths in Nigeria to embrace moral values and discipline for the country’s development.

The speaker gave the charge on monday at the 2025 annual fellowship camp of the Boys’ Brigade Nigeria, Nasarawa chapter, in Keffi Local Government Area. The camp brought together approximately 3,250 youths who are undergoing training focused on instilling discipline and moral values.

Jatau said that inculcation of moral values and discipline on the younger generations would not only promote peace, unity in the country but also promote national development.

He commended the officials of the organisation for the training of the younger generations and called for its sustenance.

“My presence here is to encourage you and urge you to continue to be good ambassadors of Christ where ever you find yourselves.

“If every one wil inculcate moral values on the younger generations, the society will be better for it,” he said

The speaker donated a car to the organisation for its smooth activities.

“This donation is to show my appreciation so that you can perform your duties very well and without difficulties,” he said

Earlier, Mr Akolo Success-Ahmed, the state President of Boys Brigade, said it was not just a youth organisation, but a movement of discipline, character- building and service.

“Our mission is to instil the fear of God in young men, raising them as responsible citizens who will stand as lights in their families, communities and society at large.

“By the Grace of God, the boys brigade in Nasarawa has continued to produce men and women of integrity, who had contributed positively in different spheres of life,” he said.

The organisation’s president appealed for mobility, secretariat, land for agricultural project and camp ground.
