1. The political legacy left by his father and, especially, deceased brother, Isiaka Adeleke Serubawon
2. Refusal of the APC to field him as its senatorial candidate after the death of Serubawon – which made him to cross to PDP and win the Senatorial election.
3. The inability of the Aregbesola government to initially wholly pay salaries.
4. Cancellation of polls in some areas during the governorship election, which eventually irked the tribunal.
5. Rerun by INEC, which the sages at the tribunal saw as illegal.
