Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo has assured people of Anegbette in Etsako Central Local Government area that his administration would continue to address the issue of flood ravaging some parts of the state.

Obaseki gave the assurance on Monday when he visited the Oliola of Anegbette, His Royal Highness, Ugbodaga Yakubu, to seek for his prayers and support ahead of the Sept. 19 gubernatorial election.

According to him, my visit to your palace is part of my electioneering campaign process. This place is a traditional place for me.

“You adopted me during my first electioneering campaign. You gave me your royal blessing and I won in the election, am here again to seek for your blessing and support.

“I want to assure you that Anegbette will experience a great developmental change that is going on in Nigeria and the world. Even, in the face of the current economic challenges.

“We will continue to fight the menace of flooding in this area. The farming system in this area will experience a great turn around.

“We want to make sure that educational sector, farming, roads and other infrastructure development are given to the people of Anegbette,” he said.

In his remarks, the Oliola of Anegbette, said he appreciated the governor for starting his campaign in his palace, and prayed that he would achieve whatever that brought him to his palace.

“I pray for you and your entourage safe journey back to your various destinations. Am sure that as you came here, you will get whatever that brought you.

“The elections will be peaceful in this area. My people will go out, conduct themselves peaceful during and after the elections,” he said.
