The Nigeria Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) says it is collaborating with the Northern Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Jama’atu Nasrul Islam (JNI) and the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) to end the killings in Southern Kaduna.

Rev. Yakubu Pam, Executive Secretary of the commission, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Jos.

Pam, who described the killings in Southern Kaduna as “unfortunate”, urged key stakeholders in the area to stop the blame game syndrome and work collectively to end the unrest.

The executive secretary, who commended Gov. Nasiru El-Rufai for the proactive steps taken to curb the situation, urged him and the Federal Government to reach out to the devastated and displaced communities.

“I am deeply touched by the recent turnout of events in Southern Kaduna, where innocent lives and property worth millions are destroyed.

“I wish to commend critical stakeholders in Kaduna, particularly the state governor, for the proactive steps so far taken to protect and secure lives of innocent persons in the rural communities.

“As a commission, we are collaborating with CAN, JNI, MACBAN and other community leaders in Southern Kaduna with a resolve toward ending the crises.

“I appeal to the Kaduna State Government, the relevant federal government agencies and humanitarian organisations to urgently reach out to the affected communities across the affceted localities, where many are displaced with the aim of addressing their plights.”

Pam called on people in the affected communities to remain calm, law abiding and report suspicious activities or persons in their communties to the security agencies.
