Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has insisted that he will contest on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
He is at loggerheads with his predecessor, Adams Oshiomhole, who is also the Chairman of the ruling party.
But apart from the fact that Oshiomhole has endorsed another aspirant, Osagie Eze-Iyamu, the party has also said the candidate would be chosen via direct primary, which observers say can hardly favour Obaseki.
But contrary to some reports that he has moved to the Peoples democratic Party, Obaseki said he was committed to the party that brought him to power.
Addressing members of the Obaseki Mandate Group in Abuja on Tuesday, he said he had made up his mind to remain with the APC.
