An educator, Mrs Kehinde Alalade, has described as unrealistic the plan by the Federal Government to operate morning an afternoon shifts in schools to ensure social distancing.
According to Alalade, the system cannot afford the policy.
“Do we even have the teachers to teach in the morning and those for the afternoon,” she asked in an interview on ‘TVC’.
The Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, had, on Wednesday, muted the idea of double shifts and a thorough sanitisation arrangement.
The educationist, however, insists that the best thing is to exercise patience before asking pupils to return to schools.
She also wondered if teachers would be able to wear masks throughout the course of eight periods a day.
