Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, has warned Nigerian alternative practitioners and other researchers claiming they have discovered cure for coronavirus to stop calling him or sending such to him for test.
According to him, although he is the head of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, he is not the agency set up to test drugs.
He said that, on Thursday, one of the practitioners still called him on the phone, saying he had discovered a cure.
Mustapha said during the task force’s Thursday briefing: “Send them to the appropriate institutions to do their job. NAFDAC is there. If you send it to the chairman of the task force, will he give you a NAFDAC number?”
Meanwhile, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has also told journalists that the Federal Government has no plan for insurance cover for them (journalists).
While responding to a question on provision of insurance, Mohammed said it was the responsibility of employers to provide insurance for their frontline workers.
Mohammed said that journalists were frontline workers in curbing the coronavirus outbreak in Nigeria.
The minister said that there was the need for media owners to provide insurance for their staff.
“ I am also responsible for providing insurance for my journalists who are also frontline workers,” he said.
