The management of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has donated 940 cartons of milk to Oyo and Osun states
This is contained in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Mr Lekan Fadeyi on Friday in Ibadan.
The management led by its Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Michael Ologunde, delivered 470 cartons of milk to each of the two owner states.
The vice chancellor said that the gesture was to expedite recovery of victims of COVID-19 in the two states, who are expected to have improved protein diet.
Ologunde said that the Institution was elated at the turn of events for Gov. Seyi Makinde, who crushed the coronavirus in no time.
He prayed that those who tested positive to COVID-19 would become negative in no distant time, urging Nigerians to obey government directives as a potent way to curb the spread of the virus.
Similarly, the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology (OYSCATECH), Igbo-ora, has donated 100 packets of cassava flakes (Garri) to the state government towards cushioning the economic effects of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The 100 packets of garri were received from the college by Alhaja Bolatumi Oloko, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
Mr Olaniyi Adekunle, the Acting Rector, said that the donation was part of efforts to support the state government in alleviating the sufferings of the vulnerable people at the period.
Adekunle, while presenting the items prayed that the effort of government at various levels in the country and globally towards finding a lasting solution to COVID-19 yielded positive results.
Oloko, while receiving the donation, appreciated the management and staff of the college for the kind gesture.
She said that no gift was too small to be offered as palliatives for the people at this period of global pandemic.
According to reports, the garri was produced by the institution and packed in a kilogram polythene bags.
