Controversial singer, Naira Marley; and Lagos politician, Babatunde Gbadamosi, have escaped an imminent sentence for attending actress Funke Akindele’s birthday party for her husband.
The Lagos State Government has withdrawn the case it instituted against them, two days after it got a two-week community sentence against Funke and her husband, Rasheed Bello.
According to one of the defence counsel, Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa (SAN), the government decided to withdraw the charges after the singer and the politician agreed to tender an apology to the President, Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for flouting the directive to stay at home, by attending the party held on Saturday in Funke’s Lekki home.

Funke and the husband were also fined N100,000 each, with the order that they should also observe 14-day isolation.
