British actress, Honor Blackman, best known for her role as Pussy Galore in the James Bond film “Goldfinger” and other 1960s action dramas, has died aged 94, her family said on Monday.
“It is with great sadness that we have to announce that Honor has passed away aged 94,” the family said in a statement via Blackman’s Facebook account.
“She died peacefully of natural causes at her home in Lewes, Sussex, surrounded by her family,” the statement said.
“She was much loved and will be greatly missed by her two children Barnaby and Lottie, and grandchildren Daisy, Oscar, Olive and Toby.”
Before her most famous role as Pussy Galore opposite Sean Connery’s secret agent 007 in “Goldfinger” in 1964, Blackman was already a household name in Britain after starring in the popular, light-hearted television detective series “The Avengers.”
The London-born actress went on to star in dozens more film, television and stage roles in Britain and the United States.
