The Ibadan Film Circle has described as immoral the decision of the leadership of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) to make a Nigerian Senator, Elisha Cliff Abbo, a Patron.
Abbo came to the ‘limelight’ last year when he repeatedly slapped a lady in an Abuja shop.
He is still standing trial on this.
Based on the incident, the IFC, made up of major practitioners including Niji Akanni, Yinka Ogundaisi, Rei Raji, Nobert Young and Ropo Ewenla, said it was wrong to honour Abbo, describing the AGN’s action as insensitivity.
