The battle between two Yoruba traditional rulers – the Oluwo and Agbowu, is still very much on as the later has sued him over an alleged physical assault.
The Agbowu of Ogbaagba, Oba Dhikirullahi Akinropo, was said to have been attacked by the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdurasheed Akanbi, during a recent peace-seeking meeting.
He has now filed a lawsuit against the Oluwo, demanding N100 million as damages and N1 million as cost of hiring legal service for the action.
He is also seeking perpetual injunction restraining Mr Akanbi and his “agents’ from further assaulting him.
Reports say six other monarchs from the three local government areas in Iwo, who witnessed the alleged assault, also deposed to affidavits to testify on behalf of the Agbowu against the Oluwo.
This is coming after Oba Akanbi was suspended from attending the Osun State Traditional Rulers Council meeting for six months.
