A media practitioner, Lara Wise, has raised the alarm over the spread of what she described as fake honey in Nigeria.
She expressed worry at the proliferation in a Facebook post that is generating a lot of reactions:
Please join me in calling on NAFDAC to declare an emergency on the ‘production’, sale and consumption of fake honey in Nigeria.
It has reached a very disturbing level and we must all do something.
The consequences of consuming fake honey has given rise to so many health challenges with so many people treating ailments that have just refused to go.
Can you just imagine a diabetic trying so hard to avoid sugar and paying so much to purchase honey only for such a person to end up with a keg full of melted sugar!
Why are we doing this to ourselves?
