The Lagos Book and Arts Festival continues today (Wednesday), with major programmes holding at Freedom Park. Among others, scholar, businessman and writer, Dr Yemi Ogunbiyi, will speak on his reading culture, alongside a former Commissioner for Agriculture in Ogun State, Adepeju Adebajo.
Also, an anthology published by PEN Nigeria, titled ‘Silver Lining’, will be presented as part of the festival.
Here are the highlights of the Day 3 events, according to the festival director, Jahman Anikulapo:
November 6, 2019- Reuben Abati moderates an intellectual sparring session between Yemi Ogunbiyi, Founder, Tanus Publications and Chancellor of the Obafemi Awolowo Uniiversity, and Adepeju Adebajo, Chair of Traxi Continental, on the sort of books that excite them most.

Event: Presentation of SILVER LINING, an anthology of poetry and essays edited by Akachi Adimora- Ezeigbo and Folu Agoi, and published by Nigeria Centre of PEN International, (Hosted by the Nigerian Centre of PEN International (International Association of Poets, Playwrights, Editors, Essayists and Novelists.

JOIN BODI, an agit-prop/guerrilla theatre devised out of extensive and deep research, it urges
Nigerian communities to reunite and share solidarity after the rancorous 2019 elections. The sketches and skits in the drama canvass also strongly address the issue of accountability of office holders, urging citizens to always demand accountability from their representatives. As a theatre for awareness/sensitization, its unique feature is helping “breakdown our challenges as a people, find means to solve them creatively, putting it in the faces and ears of our grassroots audience.”

WHAT’S DIS ALL ABOUT, a tapestry of satiric skits on the state of Nigeria polity. Adapted by the famous South Africa apartheid era (premiered 1981) play, Woza Albert (written by Percy Mtwa, Mbongeni Ngema and Barney Simon), What’s Di All About, devised and directed by Toyin Oshinaike, touches on nearly every aspect of human experiences of Nigerians under successive governments.
