The police on Tuesday arraigned a 25-year-old man, Saviour Shior, in a Karshi Grade I Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly stealing his neighbour’s jewellery valued at N25,000.

Shior, who resides at Angwan Tiv, Karu Abuja is charged with three counts of criminal trespass, housebreaking and theft.

However, he denied committing the offence.

The Prosecutor, Ayotunde Adeyanju, told the court that the complainant, Jennifer Tor, reported the matter at the Karu Police Station, on Oct. 10.

He alleged that the defendant on Oct. 7, stole the complainant’s house key, entered her room and stole her jewellery valued at N25,000.

During police investigation,he alleged that the defendant confessed to the crime.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 348, 353 and 287 of the Penal Code.

The Judge, Anas Isah, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200, 000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until Nov. 7 for hearing.
