The feet of President Muhammadu Bihari’s wife, Aisha, again kissed the Nigerian soil early this morning as she returned from the UK after a relatively long time.
The last time many Nigerians were aware of her whereabouts was when she participated in the last Hajj about two months ago.
She is however back visibly rejuvenated while thanking her husband for his support.
The friendly words for Buhari would also douse the fears and insinuations that there is a feud in the presidential union.
A statement by Aisha’s spokesman, Suleiman Haruna, quoted her as saying that she was happy to be back in the country after what she called a “deserved rest.”
“This morning, First Lady of Nigeria, Dr Mrs Aisha Muhammadu Buhari returned to the country after a long holiday in the UK.
“She arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 4.30 am via a British Airways flight,” the statement red, adding that several wives of serving and past governors received her at the airport.
“She confirmed that she was fully rejuvenated to continue the work of improving the health and well-being of women, children and other vulnerable Nigerians.
“She used the opportunity to thank her husband, family and well-wishers for their support and encouragement.”
Interestingly, Aisha returned two days after a fabricated marriage between Buhari and a minister in his government was supposed to have held.
The falsehood about the proposed marriage caused a lot of frenzy, confusion and jokes, although the President never gave anyone any notice or notification for any marriage or honeymoon.
He was said to be set to tie the knot with the Humanitarian Affairs Minister, Sadiyya Farouq, who later tweeted that the marriage story was a lie.
According t her, the cabinet was busy working for the progress of the country and not for distractions.
Now that Aisha is back, however, Nigerians will be eager to see what roles she will be playing in national affairs.
