BREAKING: Sowore finally granted N100m bail

A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted bail to detained SaharaReporters Publisher and politician, Omoyele Sowore, and his co-defendant, Olawale Bakare.

Justice Chioma Ojukwu had fixed 4th of October for the hearing of the matter.

She granted bail to Sowore in the sum of N100m with two sureties in like sum.

The sureties who must be resident in Abuja must also have landed assets worth the bail sum in Abuja, and they are to deposit the original title documents of the assets with the court.

The duo were restrained from addressing any rally pending the conclusion of their trial on charges of treasonable felony among others.

She also barred Sowore from traveling out of Abuja and the second defendant out of Osogbo ,during the pendency of the trial

Sowore was charged to court by the Federal Government on seven counts charges of treasonable felony, cyberstalking and money laundering.

Counsel to the defendants, Mr Femi Falana, SAN, described the bail conditions as stringent, adding that the defendants would make the necessary applications if unable to meet with the bail terms ordered by the court.

Justice Ojukwu denied Sowore bail on Sept. 30 ordering his counsel to file a formal bail application.
