The Conference of 2019 All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Assembly Candidates in the South-East has called on Nigerians to support President Muhammadu Buhari achieve positive results for the nation.
The conference’s chairman, Mr Afamefuna Ezenwafor, made the appeal on Monday in Enugu while briefing newsmen shortly after emerging as its chairman.
Ezenwafor said that the conference was confident in the ability of the Buhari-led government to revamp the economy and place it on the path of sustainable growth.
The conference is made up of APC House of Assembly candidates in the 2019 general elections in South-East.
He said that the APC-led federal government had implemented enough programmes in the South-East to earn the peoples’ confidence.
“The Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, the Second Niger Bridge, the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway and the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu are some of the signature projects in the zone,” he said.
Ezenwafor further stated that federal government’s social intervention programmes had benefited the people immensely.
“So we need to do everything possible to shore-up the strength of the party in the zone in order to perform better in future elections.
“ As a group, we are determined to ensure that the people of the region embraced the APC as well as support Federal Government policies,” he said.
He said that the group would work with the leadership of the party in the South-East to build a strong base for the party.
