President Muhammadu Buhari’s reelection has recorded another validation.
This time, Hope Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Ambrose Owuru, which challenged Buhari’s victory in the February 23, 2019 poll, have lost in court.
The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal on Thursday, struck out the petition they filed in a unanimous judgment of the five-man tribunal led by Justice Mohammed Garba.
This is coming a day after the tribune reserved judgement in the case filed by Peoples Democratic Party, and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
The tribunal struck out the HDP’s petition on Thursday on the grounds that it was premised on a purported referendum which allegedly held on February 16, 2019.
Itsaid it lacked jurisdiction to entertain the petition which did not challenge the February 23, 2019 election, but a purported referendum not conducted by INEC.
