A former Governor of Asia State, Dr Orji Kalu, has said that his decision not to attend a function he had in Spain has nothing to do with a threat from the Indigenous People of Biafra.
IPOB had, after attacking Senator Ike Ekweremadu in Germany, vowed to attack other Igbo politicians it saw abroad.
When Kalu thus declined to honor the Spain appointment, some people said it was for the fear of IPOB.
But reacting in a statement on Monday, he said it was a domestic political programme that held him back.
He said,“I have been in my country home interacting with people from my constituency and settling disputes.
“The news that I suspended by planned medical check-up in Germany was not true.
“I was invited by an Igbo group in Spain to attend their function, I could not go because of the interaction with my constituents.levels and embrace peace, saying only then will the South-East region be prosperous and peaceful.”
