About a month after some robbers raided the Obafemi Awolowo Hostel at the University of Ibadan, another related assault has reportedly occurred at the institution.
The hoodlums, said to be armed with machetes and other dangerous weapons, invaded the female block of the Abdusalami Abubakar Postgraduate Hall at about 2am.
They were said to have tied up a security guard, as was done during the initial attack.
TA student was quoted as saying, “They came in around 2 am. They were about seven. They were paired in twos, moving from a room to another, collecting people’s phones and laptops. They knew about this hostel, and they were so comfortable. They had time to operate.
“They tied up our security man. One of the two males who were alarmed and decided to come from their block to see the situation was macheted on the head and the other received a cut on his hand.”
