A Channels TV Reporter, Precious Owolabi, who dead during the Shiites protest in Abuja will be laid to rest tomorrow Thursday,July 25th.
During the protest staged by members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Owolabi, was shot dead while covering the clash between the Shi’ites and the police on Monday, July 22nd.
It was gathered that, the corpse was immediately moved to the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH) Mortuary.
The passage rites for the 23 years old corp member will be held today at his parents house in Wusas, Kaduna state.
“The management and staff of Channels Television are greatly saddened by the untimely and unfortunate death of such a promising journalist,” the media organisation (Channels) said in a statement.
According to reports, the IMN members are demanding the release of their leader Ibrahim el-Zakzaky in detention since 2015 following reports of worsening health conditions of both he and his wife, who is also being held.
