Lovers of engaging and exciting music are in for another great deal at the 2026 edition of the EniObanke Music Festival (EMUFest) starting on November 21. Iconic musician, Segun Akinlolu, aka Beautiful Nubia, has rallied several thoroughbred artistes for the event now in its 17th edition.
According to a statement by EniObanke music company, the festival begins with music concerts in Ibadan (November 21) and Lagos (November 22) headlined by Beautiful Nubia and the Roots Renaissance Band, and featuring some of the best contemporary folk music stylists, including Femi Ajayi (AJ Sequential), Nkem ‘Bukola, EniObanke Community Choir, Tommy WÁ (coming all the way from Paris) and more.
“These concerts will be followed, on November 28, by a songwriting and music production workshop,” the statement adds. “December 5, the last day of the festival, will feature three disparate events: a football match which is free and open to all; a talking drum workshop to be delivered by OdunOrin; and, finally, a poetry event tagged Word ’N’ Sound to be headlined by the iconic Akeem Lasisi, Aremo Gemini, Segun Ade fi la and His Royal Bards, and many more.
“Those in the Nigerian literary circles may recall that Word ’N’ Sound was the fi rst-ever performance poetry series held in Nigeria. It ran from 2003 to 2004, featuring some of the best poetic voices and up-and-coming musicians in Nigeria at the time. Many of those artists have gone on to big careers since then.”
