President Bola Tinubu has extended the tenure of the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Kemi Nandap, to June 30, 2028.
He also extended the tenure of the Controller-General of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Sylvester Nwakuche, to May 2028.
The development was announced in a statement issued by the Presidential Spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, in Abuja on Monday.
According to Onanuga, the approval followed a recommendation by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, to address succession gaps in both services and give their boards sufficient time to appoint successors.
He said Tinubu commended Nandap and Nwakuche for the reforms achieved under their leadership and urged them to consolidate the gains.
Nandap was nominated by Tinubu as Comptroller-General of the NIS on February 21, 2024, and her appointment was confirmed by the Senate on March 1, 2024.
