The University of Venda (UNIVEN) in South Africa has partnered with international media network TV BRICS to promote scientific research, educational initiatives and international academic cooperation.

The agreement was signed on October 15 at TV BRICS headquarters in Moscow by the network’s Chief Executive Officer and Editor-in-Chief, Janna Tolstikova, and UNIVEN’s Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Fulufhelo Netswera.

Under the agreement, both institutions will implement joint information and educational projects, promote research findings and support professional and expert networks. They will also work to strengthen cultural and humanitarian ties with BRICS member states and partner countries.

Netswera said the partnership would advance the university’s internationalisation strategy and strengthen its visibility, particularly across the Global South.

Established in 1982, UNIVEN is a multidisciplinary public university in Thohoyandou, Limpopo Province, with more than 13,000 students. Its activities include teaching, research, innovation and community engagement.

TV BRICS said it partners with more than 30 science and higher education institutions across Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Ethiopia, Cuba and Nepal.
