A 27-year-old woman, Omowunmi Olamilekan, was on Monday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan for allegedly threatening her employer’s life.
Olamilekan, an employee of Daily Needs Micro Loan Company, pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy, conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace and threat to life.
The prosecutor, Insp. Samuel Owolabi, told the court that the defendant and others at large allegedly threatened to break into her employer’s home and injure her on August 17 at Bodija Market, Ibadan.
He also alleged that Olamilekan sent WhatsApp messages to some customers, urging them to stop patronising the company, with the intention of exposing her employer, Mrs Adenike Popoola, to hatred, contempt and ridicule.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 516, 249(d) and 86(1) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The magistrate, Mrs Gladys Olanrewaju, granted the defendant bail of ₦500,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until November 24 for hearing.
