An initiative founded by Favour Sado and Teniola Oduntan is set to reach 50 to 60 girls at Kevin-Brain Secondary School in Ajegunle, Lagos, with a programme designed to build confidence, encourage self-discovery and help them recognise their potential.
The outreach, themed “Unleash Her Potential,” is scheduled for Friday, November 6, 2026. It will focus on helping the participants identify their talents, understand their strengths, develop their interests into practical skills and gain a clearer sense of purpose.
For Sado and Oduntan, the project represents an opportunity to translate what they have learnt into practical action and contribute to positive change in their community. Their vision goes beyond the classroom, seeking to create a space where girls can better understand themselves and feel encouraged to pursue their ambitions.
The organisers believe that the expectations placed on girls while growing up can sometimes discourage them from speaking confidently, expressing their opinions or taking up opportunities. They hope the outreach will challenge these limitations by encouraging participants to value their abilities rather than feel pressured to make themselves smaller to fit into other people’s expectations.
Through interactive activities and discussions, the programme will address talent discovery, personal interests, purpose, healthy self-esteem, comparison and peer pressure. The aim is to help the girls develop a stronger sense of self-worth and become more intentional about their personal growth.
Beyond the sessions, the initiative also recognises the importance of providing practical resources that support the school environment. Plans include donating a public address (PA) system to improve communication during school activities, alongside books, pens and pamphlets for educational use.
These planned contributions reflect the initiative’s broader goal of combining personal development with practical support for learning. While the equipment and materials are intended to address specific needs, the organisers hope the lasting impact will be the confidence and encouragement the girls carry with them beyond the programme.
To make the outreach possible, Sado and Oduntan are inviting members of the public, organisations and other well-wishers to support the project. Although they are yet to raise the funds needed to implement their plans, they are welcoming financial contributions, donations of books and stationery, volunteers and people willing to help spread awareness.
Those who wish to contribute financially can donate through First City Monument Bank (FCMB) using the account details below:

As preparations continue, the team hopes to bring together people who share its vision of helping girls recognise their abilities and access opportunities for growth. The outreach also aligns with broader efforts to promote quality education and gender equality, while encouraging young people to develop the confidence and skills needed to shape their futures.
For the organisers, “Unleash Her Potential” is about more than a single school visit or the provision of educational materials. It is an opportunity to remind the girls that their voices, interests and ambitions matter, and that they deserve the encouragement and resources to explore what they can become.
The outreach will hold on Friday, November 6, 2026, at Kevin-Brain Secondary School in Ajegunle, Lagos.
