American singer and actress, Teyana Taylor, brought an artistic touch to the red carpet at the sixth annual Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday, October 17, wearing a sculptural Schiaparelli Haute Couture look that blended fashion, craftsmanship and surrealism.
Taylor wore a design from the French fashion house’s Fall/Winter 2026–2027 Haute Couture collection, created by creative director, Daniel Roseberry.
The outfit featured a glossy, pale-blue bodice moulded to resemble the human torso, paired with a floor-length, sheer skirt covered in three-dimensional floral details.
The contrast between the structured bodice and the delicate skirt gave the outfit its distinctive appearance.
The skirt featured flowers in shades of blue and beige, with colours gradually transitioning into warmer brown and golden tones towards the hem.
Taylor completed the look with nude pointed-toe heels, diamond earrings and a short, textured pixie hairstyle.
Her frosty blue eyeshadow complemented the colour of the bodice, bringing the entire look together.
When fashion becomes art
The outfit reflected Schiaparelli’s signature approach to couture, which often draws on surrealism, unusual materials and sculptural shapes.
Rather than relying solely on embellishments or a dramatic silhouette, the design used the shape of the bodice as its central feature.
Its anatomical form created a striking contrast with the softer floral skirt, turning the gown into a wearable piece of art.
Taylor has continued to make fashion a significant part of her public appearances, frequently embracing bold designs that combine creativity with strong visual details.
Her appearance at the Academy Museum Gala added another distinctive look to her growing collection of memorable red-carpet moments.
A night celebrating cinema and creativity
The sixth annual Academy Museum Gala took place at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, bringing together figures from film, music and fashion to celebrate cinema and support the museum’s exhibitions and educational programmes.
Taylor joined other celebrities at the event, which also featured a special musical performance by Taylor Swift.
With its sculptural bodice, sheer floral skirt and carefully coordinated beauty details, Taylor’s Schiaparelli ensemble stood out as an example of how couture can push the boundaries of traditional red-carpet dressing.
